Oléron, a nature island
L'île d'Oléron is the biggest French island situated on the most southerly of the atlantic coast.
It presents big natural and wild areas (coasts, forests, wetlands). The numerous forest paths and bicycle tracks let you discover it by walk or cycling.
The water quality and the softness of its micro-climate allow you to swim from April till October. The fauna and flora benefit from these exceptional conditions: pink laurel, hollyhocks, tamarisk and mimosas colour and perfume the island.
After discovering dunes and forests, you can linger and enjoy the flora of the wetlands and the multiples species of birds and mammals.
You can relax, play games, bathe in the sea, fish, engage in sporting activities on the vast beaches of fine sand along the coastline.
Everyone will experience the ocean and will succumb to the beauty of the landscape and the scents of flowers and trees.
